Scope

The traditional Nordita summer school in physics for students from the Nordic and Baltic countries aims at introducing frontier areas of physics research by world top scientists at a level understandable for master's and undergraduate students, and also to stimulate further studies. The lectures will be accompanied by exercises in groups and discussion sessions.

Format

The master class starts on Sunday 11th of August and the regular lectures end on 15th of August, Thursday. The morning of 16th is occupied by four special seminars on modern topics in theoretical physics. The master class ends after lunch on 16th.

There will be two principal lecturers each giving a two-hour lecture in the morning. In the afternoon there will be one talk on current topics on the subject. There will also be tutorial sessions during afternoon.

Breakfast is provided at Nordita 7:15-8:15 Sunday-Friday. The lectures start at 8:30 on Sunday the 11th, and the Master Class finishes after lunch on 16th.
